Conversations - Myria Georgiou, Lecturer in Media and Communications

Dr Myria Georgiou

In this first conversation Myria Georgiou discusses the affects of new forms of media and social networking tools on political movements, Diasporas, and migrants. The discussion also touches upon the contemporary fragmentation of identity and the diversification of the so called ‘old media’ due to globalisation. Dr Georgiou finishes by reminding us that power should be sought with global networks and that we all should recognise that we are all in some sense ‘diasporic’.

Dr Myria Georgiou is a lecturer in Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
